Gene Policinski named J-Day Keynote

Gene Policinski, vice president and executive director of the First Amendment Center, will deliver the keynote address at the 2010 High School Journalism Day.
Policinski is a Ball State journalism graduate, married to a Ball State grad and one of his sons is a Ball State journalism graduate.

SPJ Incoming Freshman Scholarship

The Indiana Professional Chapter of the Society for Professional Journalists is proud to sponsor talented young journalists this year by awarding $2,500 scholarships to two high school seniors preparing to study journalism at an Indiana college or university.
Special emphasis is placed on finding promising students from populations that are underrepresented in America’s newsrooms.

The Department of Journalism at Ball State University offers up to nine scholarships for incoming freshman who will major in journalism, public relations or advertising.
