Join us Friday, Oct. 8 for Junior High Journalism Day! This year, your students will learn a variety of skills and prepare for the upcoming year in two intensive courses taught by the best advisers in the region.

Tentative Schedule

8:15 a.m. – Registration begins at Emens Auditorium

9 a.m. – Opening session at the Student Center

10-11:30 a.m. – First Session

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Lunch

12:30 – 2 p.m. – Second Session

More than 1,400 students attended Ball State University’s Journalism Workshops annual High School Journalism Day on April 23, 2010.

This year’s theme, “Are we there yet?” focused on the idea that the journalism field is always changing. The technology, ideas and tools are changing and advancing so rapidly that we often wonder,”when is it going to stop? Do I know enough yet? Have we reached the final destination? How much more is the industry going to change?”

In other words, “Are we there yet?”

Students in attendance had the opportunity to attend three sessions that focused on developing their traditional media skills and improving their multimedia skills.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this year’s High School Journalism Day a success!

Junior High Journalism Day, held Oct. 9, 2009, was a great success! Almost 300 students and advisers joined us for a day of sessions in yearbook and newspaper writing, design and photography.

Thanks to everyone who helped make Junior High Journalism Day a success, and congratulations to our Junior High Contest winners!
