A 5-day online esports bootcamp designed to elevate your skills in Rocket League and Valorant. Led by Ball State Esports’ professional coaches, this immersive experience allows participants to gain valuable insights, master new strategies and techniques, and learn essential soft skills for both in-game and out-of-game success. This workshop is open to students going into grades 9-12 (and just-graduated seniors). Cost: $350

Esports Virtual Bootcamp

“FREE” Esports Workshop!

In partnership with the Lilly Endowment, CCIM is excited to offer a fully-funded summer esports camp for middle and high school students. This camp provides students an opportunity to explore college and career paths within esports technology, production and gaming. Through a competitive application process, selected participants will stay overnight in a Ball State residence hall with all meals, drinks and snacks included. Students will participate in hands-on activities, learn new skills and partake in a variety of fun and engaging university programs!

The Science of Esports class will teach students how esports uses science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) to deliver, create and play esport games.

The Middle School Camp is only open to students going into grades 6, 7 and 8. The High School Camp is only open to students going into grades 9, 10, 11 and 12. Read more about the application and selection process in the FAQ.

2024 Summer Workshop FAQs

  • CCIM+ Summer Workshops is an in-person, residential or commuter summer workshop experience for middle and high school students. Held on the beautiful campus of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, camp participants will utilize the same state-of-the-art facilities, classrooms and technology that our degree-seeking students use.

  • Any middle or high school student who has an interest in learning or expanding their knowledge and experience in the esports field. The FREE grant-funded workshop is separated based on school year — middle school and high school. Please be sure you meet the grade requirement before applying.

  • Our residential workshop participants will stay in one of Ball State’s new or updated residence halls. Residence halls are air conditioned and feature semi-private bathrooms (pods shared by a small number of rooms). Each room is equipped with a bed, desk and dresser. Participants must bring their own bedding, toiletries, shower towel and luxury items. All residence halls are located within close proximity of a dining hall with numerous food options, including the ever-loved Starbucks.

  • Every minute of the workshop is planned (schedule will be posted soon). There are rules and curfews that all student participants must follow. Course instructors and resident assistants periodically check-in with our student participants to ensure they are accounted for and safe.

  • 5-Day Esports Virtual Bootcamp: $350

    Middle School and High School Grant-Funded Workshops: FREE

  • Any Indiana middle school student going into grades 6, 7 or 8, or high school student going into grades 9, 10, 11 or 12, who has an interest in learning about or expanding their knowledge as esports professionals may apply. Preference will be given to students who best meet the grant goals. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until all 40 program participants have been selected. Students accepted into the grant-funded workshops will be notified by late May.

  • Ball State University received a Lilly Endowment grant to host a summer workshop series aimed at educating an inspiring students to continue their education beyond high school. With a emphasis on students of color, first generation college students, and students from families with limited resources, the Lilly grant program strives to help young people explore their interests, learn new skills and envision a future for themselves in college and career.
